Who are we?
The Teaching and Learning Academy help to support Staff and Students with Canvas and other Learning Technologies via the LJMU helpdesk. We can answer your Canvas related queries, deliver group training and regularly attend faculty drop-ins.

Canvas Updates and New Releases
Canvas is updated on a regular basis, there are three updates every month. Most of the changes are background changes or bug fixes that do not affect the interface, but sometimes new features are brought in. The Teaching and Learning Academy test each update to ensure new changes have no unintented consequences and to dissemintate new features to all Staff and Students. There are two types of updates:
Deploys happen on a Wednesday evening, every two weeks, and include smaller changes and bug fixes. There's a minimum of two deploy updates every month, but depending on the month, there are sometimes three.
Canvas releases include enhancements and new features. Sometimes these are quite small, like the ability to view file attachments inline on your Canvas pages, and sometimes they can include substantial changes like the new Rich Content Editor. Canvas Releases happen once a month every third Saturday.
