Blog Post: Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) to access Canvas

MFA or 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) keeps our online systems safe by making it more difficult for a cyber attacker to gain access to them.  LJMU is implementing Multi Factor Authentication across our services including Canvas.  From the 1st November you won’t be able to access Canvas without it. This means after logging in with your username and password, you’ll need to prove it is really you – either through an app, text message or a phone call.

Please note, you will not be prompted to do this on an LJMU PC or loan laptop.

What do you need to do before the 1st November?

To ensure that you can still access Canvas and other services, from 1st November, you need to register for MFA by following the simple steps here: Multi Factor Authentication

Information about where to get help if you experience any registration problems is also on this page.
