Blog Post: Canvas Training for Staff begins

Jim Turner from the Teaching and Learning Academy deliverying canvas training.

Yesterday marked the first day of staff training for Canvas, the new Institutional Virtual Learning Environment at Liverpool John Moores University.

Encouraging Feedback

Response to training has so far been very encouraging indeed, with over three hundred and fifty members of staff now signed up for an “Introduction to Canvas” session.

Participants at the first session were keen to learn more about Canvas, what features the new system offers and how to get to grips with some of the key tasks. The hands on aspects of the session allowed staff to learn these tasks at their own pace whilst also affording them the opportunity to explore the new interface and means by which information can be displayed and engaged with.

There were plenty of enquiries for the team to answer in the room and others that we have taken away to inform future sessions and the feedback forms, completed by staff at the end of the session, were very positive. The TEL team very much agree and hope that Canvas continues to impress staff throughout training and implementation

Introductory sessions to Canvas will be continuing for the coming months.
