Training events
This blog will provide you with a brief update on how the Teaching and Learning Academy plans to support you and your colleagues with training events over the next 12 months:
- Online or face to face sessions: Attendance at online sessions has been high and we intend to continue to offer onine sessions and maximise engagement, regardless of the institutional position on home or office-based work. We will review this periodically.
- How to find training and network events: We advertise all our training and networks on our learning technology site and in the training calendar.
- July – August 2021: During the summer months we will offer a schedule of online training events but there will be fewer sessions offered than last year. This will be supplemented by a range of asynchronous training materials to meet individual needs. In addition, depending on the availability of Academy staff, academics can always request a one-to-one or a small group session via email Teaching and Learning Academy .
- New training sessions: We are always seeking to provide the best guidance in using a range or tools and methods. We will be looking to run new sessions on emerging digital educational practices and expand the range of technologies we provide for developmental instruction. If there are any particular areas where you would like to see new session for please contact us.
- Supporting important themes through new networks: We want to encourage colleague to meet with like-minded individuals to share and develop practice around particular themes or technologies. These are emergent, so please contact us if there is a particular area that you would like us to help you grow and support. please contact Teaching Learning Academy.
- Championing LJMU teaching practice: We will develop ongoing short innovations in practice sessions that allow you to hear from LJMU teaching staff discuss their emerging practice. If you have an idea to share, please contact Teaching and Learning Academy.
- Programme level support: We want to launch an innovative development process focused on support at the programme level. This will help your team to identify your needs and create a bespoke offering to help you explore the potential of technology to support your students.
